Preparing for a live painting of bikes
[and probably chickens].

Tonight I will be working on a large (I mean full on 8 foot x 6 foot) mural/ live painting for WABA (Washington Area Bicyclist Association)'s annual fundraiser and gala - BIKEFEST! This year we celebrate the idea of Biketopia and what a city with bicycle-focused infrastructure would look like.
While going over some of the exhibition pieces for tonight, it was amazing to see how much work WABA had already done throughout DC and the surrounding communities in Southern Maryland and Northern Virginia. I feel really proud to be in my second full year as a member to this amazing bicycle advocacy group. WABA has helped ease me into the bicycling community as well as helped expand my love and appreciation for the District of Columbia.
I am honored to be part of the artistic entertainment for their big fundraising event TONIGHT. I will be creating a large mural painting during the event with the theme of Biketopia (and probably with chickens). If you have the time and can spend $50 all for an AMAZING organization (not to mention free Chipotle, 2 free drinks, live jazz etc), swing by the Eastern Market North Hall from 8:00pm - midnight to check out the live jazz and the painting in progress! See you tonight bike lovers!
Love, Char
