PAINTING

I am inspired by the Pattern and Decoration Movement of the 1970s and the folk art of my native South (Georgia). For nearly two decades, the primary subjects for my visual art creations have been the fascinating and complex facade of farm chickens. Roosters, a universally recognizable creature, are for me the perfect muse to explore compositions with bold colors and shapes that demand the viewers’ attention and express the animal's peculiar personalities. It represents power, prowess, and resilience.

I remain inspired by the bright and bold moments in our everyday lives, continually finding ways for my love of art and health to coexist. I strive to utilize visually intricate patterns and colors that express the rich complexity of ordinary compositions. Through my artist eye, the world is an incredibly magical place where every color and line is in an intimate tango that forms awe-inspiring images that are visually delicious.
